Hi! I am Johanna, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University.

I study how organizations evaluate novel ideas—a key challenge in strategy and innovation. My research focuses on when and why evaluators overlook promising ideas or advance weak ones, and how evaluation shapes individuals’ ability to revise, abandon, or generate ideas. Broadly, I aim to understand how organizations can build and sustain strong idea pipelines over time.

Before joining Bocconi, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Strategy and Innovation at Copenhagen Business School. I received my Ph.D. in Management from the Kuehne Logistics University in Hamburg and was a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich. Before joining academia, I worked as a Data Scientist.
